I want to stay up late, wear pink shoes, sing loud with the radio...

lately I've been feeling
the weight of the world,
all it's sadness and tragedies.
It's easy to give in to
apathy or cynicism and
just give up on the whole thing.

But i got a book called
Cold Tangerines.
i don't know if you've heard of it.
but whether you have or haven't,
you need to read it!
it's about being alive in the midst
of a messy world and
enjoying the small things in life,
the tiny joys God gives us.
it is so inspiring!

here's an excert:
"I know the world is several versions of mad right now. Pessimism and Grimness seem like the only responsible choices. I wake up at night and worry about pesticides, international politics, disease. I worry about the world we're creating for our children. The only option, as I see it, is a delicate weaving of action and celebration, of intention and expectation. Let's act, read, protest, protect, picket, learn, advocate for, fight against, but let's be careful that in the midst of all that accomplishing and organizing, we don't bulldoze over a world thats teeming with beauty and hope and redemption all around us in the meantime. Before the wars are over, before the cures are found, before the wrongs are righted, Today, humble today presents itself to us with all the ceremony and bling of a glittering diamond ring: wear me it says. Wear me out, love me, dive into me, discover me, it pleads with us.
The world is alive, blinking and clicking, winking at us slyly, inviting us to get up and dance to the music that's been playing since the beginning of time, if you bend all the way down and put your ear to the ground to listen for it".

..... no way just kidding.

Anyway, I'm sittin in Common Grounds

all grown up

my baby brother
is not a baby anymore.
he's WAY bigger than me!
he can vote, he can read greek.
and he's graduating highschool this year!
that is so weird to me!
i still think of him as
that curly headed
5 year old that wouldn't
let me dress him in my doll clothes...
anyway,
here is a picture of him,
you can look at the rest of them on my
Pixeldust site.

thirsty

i gave up
all soft drinks
and sweet tea
for lent.
i'm completely addicted
to Dr. Pepper,
so this is already
very difficult for me.
but i suppose
that is the point.

however, i've decided
to try teas.
i've been trying all kinds
of teas, hot teas, cold teas.
all unsweetened ofcourse.
and I gotta say
it's growing on me!
i think i could be quite
the tea connoisseur!

i love the yogi tea brand
because they have
fun little sayings
on the tags.

my diptych for today:

a few random things...

Ok first things first.

I LOVE that jackson pollock thing I put on here.
It is so fun! You can do it over and over again
and it's never the same! Also you should check out
iPollock.com   its great.

Secondly, I don't know if you know about
Daxflame, on youtube.. but if not, you should
check it out..  My dad showed it to me,
and at first I thought it was really weird.
but now its just weird AND hilarious.
I cant figure out if it's real,
or if that kid is just a genius.

And lastly. You need to watch this:

I'd never felt such admiration for Letterman
as I did after I watched this.
